For outside students (have not attended class or driven with our instructors)

we offer the following testing options.

1. Stand alone road test with our vehicle and our examiner   =  $75 cash
2. 1.5hr Driving lesson / refresher and a road test  =  $240 cash
3. 3hr Driving lesson / refresher and a road test = $310 cash

With option 2 & 3 the student has time to be refreshed on how to complete the road test, get comfortable with the car and then take the test.

All training sessions and road tests must be scheduled in advance.

Our offices are closed during the week as all 18 of our instructors and examiners are out on the road with students. The only time you will find any instructor in the office is on a Saturday if we are holding a teen defensive driving class there on that specific Saturday.

Being that we are paid by parents to teach their children, we do that, we do not answer the phone when we are on a lesson.

You must have held a South Carolina beginner’s permit for more than 180 days/ 6 months OR have been granted a waiver by the DMV in order to be eligible to take the road test.

Students that have completed the driver education program through our school will be tested for only $60 – set this up with your instructor.

Our driving school vehicle is easier to 3 point turn and parallel park than any other driving schools car. (see below)

To train or test with a driving school you must have a valid (not expired) South Carolina permit (not any other state or international or another country).

The permit must show that you have held the permit for a least 6 months (180 days)

If this is your 2nd or 3rd permit, please bring a copy of your previous permit with you.

If you have just had your permit issued and the permit is less than 6 months old, but the dmv has said you can test with that permit, please bring an authorization letter from the dmv stating that.

THE DRIVING SCHOOL ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY ID THE SCDMV REJECTS THE RESULTS BECAUSE THE PERSON TAKING THE TEST TESTED BEFORE THEY WERE ELIGIBLE FOR THE ROAD TEST.

SC DMV Approved Driving/Road Test
Since 2012, Greenville Driving School has been licensed and approved as a Third Party Tester school. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has determined that we are able to administer the road test to students. For this service, students will be taken on an SC DMV-approved route and allowed to complete the road test. If the student passes, he/she will receive a certificate which will be taken to a DMV field office, where the student will complete an eye exam, take a license picture, and the student’s license will be printed.

The cost for the road test service will be $75.00, payable the date the road test is administered. It is not required for students to complete the road test through our school, as the SC DMV will still be administering the road test daily during the week. For students who have difficulty getting to the DMV during normal business hours, we offer test administration on weekends. All tests administered through our school are done in our vehicles, with our instructors.

The UNFAIR ADVANTAGE
The Unfair Advantage is just what it says. The vehicles that we use for training and testing have been selected on purpose to give the student the easiest way to maneuver a test car into and out of the parallel parking spot. The high position of the driver, large rear window, no rear trunk and very short wheelbase make our vehicles the easiest to take the road test in, the easiest way to pass your road test.

No other driving school has a vehicle that performs better on the road test. We know, we have tried them all.

We can move all the way up to the back barricade of the parking area, leaving plenty of space in front of us to pull forward to the middle without receiving any penalties during the test.

Just look over your shoulder through the back window, you can back our  training and testing vehicle all the way op to the barricade, with the high seat position of the driver, the rear seats folded flat and the huge back window its very easy to back in without hitting the barricade. There is no trunk on this vehicle. Other driving school vehicles have trunks and you cannot see where the back end of the vehicle is. Remember if you touch the barricade you fail the test.
